Regular attendance is of vital importance to your child's learning. So much new learning is taking place each day in logical, sequential steps that irregular attendance places a great learning burden on the child.  Please do not short change your child by allowing frequent absences from school. Children that are tardy also miss important instructional time. If your child is late, the teacher must take valuable instruction time to go over the daily material with the tardy child. Please call us in the morning if your child will be absent for the day. We will contact parents to verify absences. You can help greatly by calling in the morning, or notifying your child's teacher by note in advance if an absence is planned. Please help us! Our absence number is 244-6161.

Attendance Awards

To obtain a perfect attendance award a student must be here every day, for the entire day. Perfect attendance awards will be given to students at the end of each trimester.

Tardies

Responsible behavior includes being on time and ready to enter the classroom by 9:00 am. When students are late, they must go to the office and get a tardy slip, they give it to their teacher when they enter their classroom. Every 3 tardies equals one full day absence as it relates to perfect attendance. Three early pick-ups will negate awarding of perfect attendance.

Absences

When your child is absent, please send a note to school the next day or call the school to tell us why the child was out. If they are absent, please call or send a note requesting missed class work. The work will help your child keep up his/her skills. Keep in mind nothing replaces the education your child gets at school.
